Kshetra Sangeetham on Chidambaram to be held on March 14
CHENNAI, March 7: The second episode of the Kshetra Sangeetham will be held at 5 p.m. on March 14 at the Mini Hall of Narada Gana Sabha here. The second episode will be on Chidambaram.

Ms. Leela Samson, Director, Kalakshetra Foundation, will be the guest of honour. There will be a presentation on Chidambaram by Dr. Sudha Seshayyan, Registrar In-charge, Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. A professor of medicine and prolific orator, Dr. Sudha is famous for her discourses on Thirukkural, Azhwars and Kamba Ramayanam. This will be followed by a concert by Smt Vijayalakshmy Subramaniam. She will be accompaied on the violin by Smt. Usha Rajagopalan and on mridangam by Mannarkoil Shri. J. Balaji.

The Kshetra Sangeetham series is being organized in association with Narada Gana Sabha. It will comprise a presentation about various aspects of the Kshetra – the temples and their uniqueness, the composers who have sung in praise of the kshetra and other aspects of musical significance. This will be followed by a music concert with a focus on different vaggeyakaras’ compositions on the kshetra.

Kshetra Sangeetham was launched on January 31, 2010, with a presentation and concert on Kanchipuram.
