Kalakshetra Bharatanatyam residential camp to commence on January 7, 2020
CHENNAI, September 15: Kalakshetra Foundation here in Chennai will hold a Bharatanatyam residential camp. Titled Kala Sibiram 2020, the camp will commence on January 7, 2020 and last till January 14, 2020. Children and adults can participate in the camp. The camp will accommodate both junior and senior participants.

The camp is intended to provide an insight into the Kalakshetra method of teaching. And, that is sought to be articulated in Kalakshetra ambience. It will help participants understand the origin development and underlying philosophy of Bharatanatyam at Kalakshetra. It will hold repertoire class with emphasis on perfecting technique on Nritta and Abinaya. There will also be lectures on Indian cultural heritage and history. The participants will be able to experience block printing, weaving, pottery and Tanjore painting. The camp will offer yoga and fitness training. Chanting, meditation and lecture-demonstration by stalwarts, among others, will also form part of the camp menu. The foundation will also organize a trip to a nearby heritage site.
